Uninstalling or Re-installing Stocker WMS Evaluation Downloads

To help you uninstall and to minimize any problems you may encounter re-installing these evaluation version of Stocker WMS please note the following:

• You can install a new version of Stocker over a current installation
• Should you uninstall Stocker, the SQL Server Express database engine is left installed on the computer.
• If you want to uninstall the SQL Server Express database engine you have to do this separately through the Add Remove Programs option of the Control Panel.
• Should you uninstall SQL Server Express the physical files which held Stocker's databases are not deleted. This is standard practice of the SQL Server uninstall not to remove users private data.
• If you re-install Stocker after uninstalling SQL Express it can fail if the physical files holding Stocker's databases still exist as it cannot create those files. You must go to the SQL Server installation folder and delete the physical files so they can be recreated.

 

Microsoft SQL Server will be installed into the following folder by the installation program

Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server

or on a 64 bit computer

Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server

The particular instance of SQL Server Express will most likely be in a subfolder \MSSQL.1 with the physical database files further down in a folder \MSSQL\Data

The files holding the databases are:

ThirdPartyTrainDB.mdf

ThirdPartyTrainDB.ldf

or for the Owner System:

OwnerTrainDB.mdf

OwnerTrainDB.ldf

If you have more than one instance of SQL Server there may folders MSSQL.2/3 etc. Look in the \data folders if you have multiple instances of SQL Server installed.

If you do not delete SQL Server Express just install everything over your current installation without electing to install SQL Server Express. Enter the name of your current SQL Server instance
